Rain, Pumpkin and Ping Pong

We have picked up a couple of new runners for our little gang which is super! This is a Saturday morning run in which it rain or poured the whole time.

Me, Jenny, Caroline

There was a LOT more water when we came back than when we left.

A trip to a nearby neighbourhood was about the same.

Nothing like driving back.....

....and being caught in a huge downpour an hour before Vince has to leave for Hong Kong. We sucked it up and got wet but waited until he could see.

Thai pumpkin....delicious but it's like peeling a dinosaur.

My science class running laps and testing how much carbon dioxide they produce (loosely calculated). They chose to run outside instead of doing jumping jacks inside. I as surprised and happy at the same time. Our VP who taught science came and helped one day and as he was standing there a parent came by and asked what they were being punished for.....he had a good laugh.

Runners, scientists and the school golf cart.

This happens right beside my room everyday: before school, milk break, lunch and after school. They are 11-12 years old and have 2 ping-pong tables. No adult helped need, no rules but their own. They make a line, play one rally and winner stays. I love how they set it up themselves and sometimes there are 15 kids in lines.
