Ottawa and A Wedding

We headed back to Canada (Ottawa) for 10 days for an amazing break and of course for Kelli and Jeff's wedding. One of the first stops was a good old Tim Hortons.

I might be the only one still happy that there is snow around but I was happy to run/walk in temperatures below 35 deg C. You can't really feel your breath sometimes when it is really hot. It feels like opening a dryer at the end of a cycle and climbing in. But, funny how you get used to it. We are so lucky to have access to the pools but even they, they are running pretty warm this time of year.

A great sign outside an Ottawa Pub.

This says it all.

Kelli and Jeff got married.....yeah!!!!!!
Here is the happy couple.

And a few others.

My best photo-bomb ever behind Vince, Nico and Lucas. They were father-son bonding I think.

...although Noah did come a close second.

That's a whole lot of Perry-Gore/O'Reilly

Post wedding pics.....

Took a trip to Aylmer and we all agreed that it's nice but Ottawa is the place to live.

Mike and Kaitlin. Getting married summer 2015......yahoo!!!

We loved seeing everyone and headed back to bangkok knowing that we would be back in 6 weeks. Which by the way is flying by.

Flying over northern Canada and up over Alaska during the day was mesmerizing and I think I caught the edge of the oil sands in the bottom of the picture.

See ya soon!

Field Trip

We had our Safari World trip today with all 110 of our grade 7 kids. Jessica, on the right is my science teaching partner and all around a great teacher and organizer. I couldn't ask for a better partner in crime. The middle, Clare is the my math-buddy and Cookie, is a retired teacher from Wisconsin who is teaching the intense ESL. It's a pretty intelligent group os gals!

The focus of the trip was to become more aware of treatment of animals and their use in shows. so, we had....

The Orangutan Show which included:

Boxing orangutans.

Orangutans dressed in everything imaginable.

The Elephant Show which was actually quite sad, since they are beautiful animals and most of what they do in the show would never be done in the wild.

I ahd heard of painting elephants but until today I thought that it meant that people painted the elephants skin. Nope, the elephants paint pictures like these three.

A closer look.

You can buy them for 500 B ($17)
